8/8/2023 0 Comments Blender or vray![]() ![]() So Blender is well-suited to making very efficient experts, but the up-front learning is a lot less pleasant and slower. ![]() The philosophy of Blender was to keep one hand on the keyboard and one on the mouse, allowing people to become very efficient-but only if they committed to memory what keyboard buttons actually do. Blender eschewed much of that in favor of hotkeys due to fundamentally different philosophy about what’s important. Most make user interfaces with clickable buttons to do all of the important things, so it’s more self-explanatory what does what. People act like I’m stubborn for denigrating Blender for being different from Max, but the truth is that Blender is different from the majority of media creation software. Blender’s creators have made some useful strides since it’s advent, in that newer versions do not inundate users with controls for functions they won’t use a lot while hiding those for basic shapes, so I no longer get a headache looking at it worse than those Bubsy 3D evokes, but the program still is simply not self-explanatory. It feels much too arbitrary in how so much of it uses keyboard shortcuts instead of prominent buttons. I don’t feel Blender is a good program for late learners.
